The Trash society exhibition reunited RIV (painter, plastician, performer) and Antoine Favier (journalist, photograph) between the 2nd and 9th of may 2019 at the Impasse to approach the theme of occidental influence in South Asia.
The two artists addressed it through different subjects such as the impact of a uniformed occidental culture or the consequences of consumerism on overseas nations.
Antoine Favier portayed the beauty of an authentic region’s landscape that was transformed by globalization and northern countries’ consumer habits.
RIV particularly focused her interest on the incidence of occidental culture’s hegemony under the traits of a contagion.
To do so, she approached the idea of the asian women’s image and the media’s sway or the popular hypocrisy about the actual anthropogenic environnment.
